Description
Input signal processing
The Reuss has a USB, a RCA, a Toslink and an AES input. The USB input is based on Amanero technology and, thanks to two precise oscillators, ensures a low-jitter music signal, which is also galvanically isolated by capacitive isolator components. The signals arriving at the other inputs are also galvanically isolated and de-jittered using transformers and capacitors. This guarantees that no external interference can affect the sensitive signal.
Digital-to-analog conversion
The work of digital-to-analog conversion is carried out by two 1794A converter modules from Burr Brown. Each channel has its own module for a 5 dB improved dynamic range. The analog current signal is converted in a discrete structure into a voltage signal, which is buffered using Class A technology and routed to the output. The Reuss is designed to be fully symmetrical, which means that a total of four independent channels are implemented from the two converter modules to the output.
Power supply
Each functional unit has its own power supply, there are twelve in total. Two output channels each are supplied by a separate linear supply with an oversized transformer.
Structure
Components and circuit variants as well as various layouts were thoroughly tested for their sound influence in countless sessions by people with hearing experience. This applies in particular to capacitors, voltage regulators, converter components, transistors, resistors, signal processing, I/V converters and output stages.
Made in Switzerland
The production of the housing, the front panel and the control buttons as well as the printing, component assembly, assembly, commissioning and control take place exclusively in Switzerland.
